Fresh Bread in the Village

Pan dulce (sweet bread) is a tasty snack and something many people in our village eat with breakfast. This bread was pre-ordered by villagers and will be delivered fresh.
It is cooked in a wood burning stove like this. There are burning embers below and above so as to heat evenly.
Ready to be removed from the fire and cooled. Here is my friend “Don” Chin, who is a deacon at the Presbyterian Church in our village.
They use plantain leaves to cover the bottom so that they don’t burn.
Another batch ready to be cooked.
