Iglesia Presbiteriana del Uruguay (Presbyterian Church of Uruguay) is privileged to meet for worship each week on the Lord’s Day. It is a joy for God’s covenant people to come before him corporately in order to give praise and glory to the Living God as well as to receive from him all that we need for spiritual growth and nourishment through his appointed means of Word and sacrament. There are also activities throughout the week – including a weekly prayer meeting, youth group, and “Kid’s Bible Club.”
Throughout the year there are various outreaches. The church organizes a VBS twice a year and has held marriage conferences and family camps. Short term missions teams help with evangelism and other ministries.
As with any new mission church, one of the primary goals is to become self-governing. The congregation gives thanks to the Lord that as of April 2015, officers have been nominated, ordained and installed. The organizing pastor of the church is Rev. Mauricio Rolim, a missionary with the Brazilian Presbyterian Church (IPB). Pastor Mauricio continues to serve there, praying that one day the Lord will call a Uruguayan man to serve as pastor. The church continues to minister to Christ’s flock under the care of the session and is reaching out to evangelize the lost in Montevideo.
Please pray for God’s blessing on this work!
